Visitor Information



Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Family members and friends are welcome to visit; however, please know patient care is our primary concern at Mt. San Rafael Hospital. And, in order to enhance the quality of care, please be sure to adhere to regular visiting hours - 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Visiting Regulations

Following are general guidelines for visitors:

Mt. San Rafael Hospital allows tobacco products ONLY in the designated area; located out the west doors of the main lobby on the cafeteria deck. There is a smoking gazebo located in this area. This policy applies to all tobacco products including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, herbal tobacco products, and chewing tobacco.

Visitors must dress appropriately and must wear shirts and shoes at all times.

No more than two (2) visitors are allowed at the bedside at one time. Visitors in semi-private rooms should be considerate of both patients.

People with colds, sore throats, or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.

Visits should be kept short.

Visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.

Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests, treatments, or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.

Meditation Chapel

A meditation chapel is located in the hospital lobby. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for prayer and/or quiet reflection.

Gifts for Patients

Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients. Please check with the nurse to make sure your gift is appropriate.

Gift Shop

The Mt. San Rafael Hospital Gift Shop, staffed by volunteers, is open from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. The shop has a variety of gift items including jewelry, greeting cards, candy, slippers, and other items appropriate for patients. The Gift Shop phone number is (719) 846-8018.

Waiting Areas

There are specially designated areas for visitor waiting. There is adequate seating available in the lobby area of the main entrance or in the waiting area near the Emergency Department.
