Cardiopulmonary Department

| Description: | The cardiopulmonary department routinely staffs the hospital from 0630 to 1900 hours seven days a week. A therapist will be in house 24/7 whenever a ventilator is in service. A therapist is on-call from 19:00 – 06:30 daily with a 30 minute response time if at home; 15 minute response time if in-house.

Cardiopulmonary services include but are not limited to:
· Oxygen therapy and monitoring
· Airway medication therapy
· Pulmonary expansion therapy
· Artificial airway management
· Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
· Ventilator management and monitoring
· Patient Education and self care
· Chest Physiotherapy/Bronchial Hygiene
· Sputum induction, aspiration
· BIPAP/CPAP therapy
· Smoking Cessation Education
Additionally Cardiopulmonary is responsible for an array of diagnostic testing including:
· Electrocardiogram
· Arterial Blood Gas/Venous Blood Gas
· Simple Spirometery/pre-post pulmonary function
· Holter Monitoring
· Cardiac Event Monitors
· Polysomnography
· Treadmill Stress Testing
· Echo and Stress Echocardiogram
· Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram
· Carotid Doppler Ultrasound
· Nuclear Cardiac Imaging
